Veterinarian

The Village Veterinary Clinic of Hamburg has an employment opportunity for an associate veterinarian. An associate veterinarian at the Village Veterinary Clinic of Hamburg will join a small animal-exclusive practice that prides itself in progressive, thorough medicine and surgery, utilizing a professional and positive team approach that exists throughout the hospital. Your future colleagues would include excellent veterinarians certified in physical therapy, rehab, and acupuncture to allow for complimentary modalities to your therapeutic plan.

We recognize this particular profession is ever-evolving so we encourage and sponsor continuing education (local and national) for our technicians and doctors. We also provide specific mentoring via our numerous associates for our new team members to help create a solid foundation for professional growth. Veterinary Technician

We are looking for:

The Village Veterinary Clinic of Hamburg is seeking a NY State licensed veterinary technician to join our community daytime, medical team. Our progressive, team-orientated approach encourages constructive dialogue between our assistants, technicians, and doctors which allows for collaborative medicine, leading to more positive outcomes for our patients. Job Description:
• Licensed in New York State as a veterinary technician
• Provides compassionate care to patients
• Keeps accurate medical records
• Able to appropriately restrain both dogs and cats. Regularly utilizes fear-free methods
• Client education
• Proficient in venipuncture
• Anesthetic monitoring for patients during dental and surgical procedures
• Part of a team when handling emergencies
• Proficient at labwork
• Proficient in radiology
• Able to care for critically ill and hospitalized patients

Pay: $21.50 – $28.00 per hour (pay based on level of experience)

Overnight assistant

The Village Veterinary Clinic of Hamburg is seeking a veterinary assistant to join our overnight team. Our veterinary assistant plays an integral part in assisting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patients and patient care. Overnight assistants play a vital role during emergency hours. They help with patient care, and keep our hospital clean, organized, and disinfected. Our progressive, team-orientated approach encourages constructive dialogue between our assistants, technicians, and doctors which allows for collaborative medicine, leading to more positive outcomes for our patients. Performance Expectations:

  • Provide compassionate care to animals
  • Keep accurate medical records
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment rooms, and surgical rooms according to hospital policy
  • Help with technician and office visits
  • Effectively restrain animals
  • Clean and organize the hospital
  • Properly care for hospital equipment
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks such as office visits, emergency cases, lab work, or x-rays
  • Help care for hospitalized patients under the direction of the veterinary technician and veterinarian. Proper cleanliness of cages and kennels. Cleaning food dishes and laundry.

Pay $17.00-$19.00 per hour
